Andreas Bennetzen

Andy Benz is the name of a band consisting of only one man and his double bass. Live looping and a multitude of effects form the basis for imaginative improvisations and new surprising soundscapes when Andy Benz is on stage. The music can be described as modern jazz with references to dub, electronica, ambient, classical music and rock, among other genres.

The man behind Andy Benz is the performer, composer and double bass player Andreas Bennetzen, who besides Andy Benz operates under several different aliases such as Android Bennet, Mr. Dynamobass and Andy Bennet to embrace his wide spectre of artistic ideas.

With a background in jazz and an upbringing in a family who listened to soul, hip hop and reggae, the classically educated Bennetzen is a versatile and many faced artist. Combined with his great talent, Bennetzen has become a very popular and internationally renowned musician whose artistic activities range from recordings with The Danish National Chamber Orchestra to concerts and recordings with among others the hip-hop rockers in Revoltage and Efterklang.

Andreas Bennetzen has composed a piece for electric string quartet and DJ especially for Nordic Music Days 2010.
