Benjamin Schweitzer

Benjamin Schweitzer studied composition, music theory and orchestra conducting at the Lubeck and Dresden Music Academies and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. He performs occasionally as pianist and conductor, and he was co-founder and artistic leader of the Ensemble Courage, a chamber music group specialized in contemporary music. Apart from his work as a composer, curator and musician, Schweitzer is very active in the field of musicology and has published numerous articles, especially, but not only, on contemporary music. Currently, Schweitzer lives in Berlin where he works as a freelance composer.
