The key word of the Swedish composer Fredrik Österling’s work is correspondence between music, language and rhetoric. His works include both orchestral, chamber, choral, and vocal pieces, many of which have been successfully performed throughout Europe. In 2006, Österling became the organisational manager of the Swedish Musicians’ union – a position that makes much sense because of Österling’s passionate concern for cultural and political issues which has always coexisted alongside his composing activities.
