Happy folk - Nordic Contemporary Folk Orchestra

Happy Folk – Nordic Contemporary Folk Orchestra consists of eleven talented folk musicians from Sweden, Norway, the Faroe Islands and Denmark. Their music is placed in the span between the traditional and the modern, and between folk music and contemporary. Happy Folk explores novel musical expressions and techniques, and interprets and forms traditional folk tunes in new ways. The orchestra is also interested in the physical context of the music and their concerts take place in both concert halls and in the streets. In connection with Nordic Music Days 2010, the orchestra has cooperated with the fiddle players Vegar Vårdal (NO) and Tove de Fries (DK) as well as the composer Simon Steen-Andersen (DK). Happy Folk has also worked with fiddle player Patrik Andersson (SE) and composer Daniel Hjorth (SE).

Happy folk - Nordic Contemporary Folk Orchestra will perform on Day 4 - Extras of NORDIC MUSIC DAYS 2010.
