Jesper Nordin will be conducting Esbjerg Ensemble.

Since 2003, Jesper Nordin has served as assistant conductor (and from 2008 to 2010 as Studienleiter) at the Royal Danish Opera. He has there been responsible for rehearsing a wide range of repertoire, such as the complete production of Richard Wagner's Ring ('Das Rheingold', 'Die Walküre', 'Siegfried' and 'Götterdämmerung'), 'Tristan and Isolde', 'Ariadne auf Naxos', 'Elektra', 'Wozzek', 'Don Carlos', 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'Don Giovanni', 'Eugen Onegin', 'Turandot', 'Carmen', 'Il Turco in Italia', 'Cenerentola', 'Werther', 'Maskerade' and more...

In this capacity he has worked with world class conductors such as Jiri Kout, Marc Soustrot, Michael Schønwandt, Michael Boder, Friedemann Layer, Giancarlo Andretta a.o. and singers such as Placido Domingo, Stig Andersen, Irene Theorin, James Johnson, Stephen Miling, Allesandro Corbelli, Johan Reuter a.o.

Jesper Nordin has conducted the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, The Odense Symphony Orchestra, The Danish Radio Sinfonietta,, Opera Hedeland (2 years as Chorus Master) a.o.

He works regularly with danish specialist ensembles such as Athelas, Esbjerg Ensemble, Figura, Dygong, the Århus Sinfonietta a.o. on contemporary music. Having a very close relationship with the young generation of Danish composers, he has already conducted over 75 world premieres, often appearing at contemporary music festivals such as the Nordic Music Days & Sound Around.

Jesper Nordin founded in 2002 the chamber orchestra Galanteana, focusing on 18th century repertoire and composers such as Mozart, Haydn, J.C.Bach and C.P.E.Bach.
