Katrine Ganer Skaug
Katrine Ganer Skaug (b 1971, Oslo) is a musicologist with background as a music journalist in the Nowegian Broadcasting and a former editor of Parergon, magazine of contemporary music in Norway. She has also been active as a lecturer in music and as pianist, singer and choir conductor.
Katrine`s approach to the international/contemporary music scene started as a production assistant at the Ultima Oslo Contemporary Music Festival, leading to the Nordic collaboration of composers when she took on the responsibility as Programme Co-ordinator at MAGMA2002 Berlin. From 2003-2007 she held the position as Secretary General in the Nordic Composers Council, having facilitated a large number of international collaborations besides founding Re:New Music, a successful pan-European network for ensembles and composers supported by the EU commission - as well as being active in the development of Nordic Music Days. Since 2008 she has been general manager of the summer youth orcehstra Orkester Norden www.orkesternorden.com
