Sampo Haapamäki

Sampo Haapamäki studied composition at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and graduated in 2005. Haapamäki’s works count two concertos, three chamber orchestra works, compositions for mixed choir, concert band and big band, and chamber music. His compositions can be roughly divided into two parts viewed from a harmonic perspective. The majority of harmonies in works composed between 2000 and 2003 are based on full chromaticity and, since 2004, on quartertone harmonies.
