The leader of Stina Hellberg Trio is a Swedish harp player, with roots in classical music, who has grown into jazz, free jazz and jazz fusion with influences from the traditional music of Sweden. As an improvising harpist, Stina Hellberg has a rich, melodic voice of her own. With knowledge of traditional jazz theory and a base in Scandinavian free jazz culture, Stina Hellberg Trio is breaking new ground for an ancient instrument.
