Tommi Kärkkainen

Tommi Kärkkäinen graduated from the Sibelius Academy where he studied with Paavo Heininen, Tarja Penttinen, Hannu Porkka and Markku Hannola. In 1998, he won 1st prize of the International Rostrum of Young Composers and in 1999 he was selected to be Brass Composer of the Year. He has received numerous commissions from orchestras and ensembles from all over Europe and his works have been performed at many international festivals.
