The Swedish ensemble peärls before swïne experience has been awarded the Nordic Composers´ prize for their involvement in contemporary music. This ensemble has developed their own way of performing new music to a diverse audience by combining technical and musical mastery with a relaxed humorous stage presence. The prize will be presented at Nordic Music Days 2010.
The Nordic Composers´ Prize is initiated by the Council of Nordic Composers to give focus to Nordic music life. Every year the Council of Nordic Composers rewards a person, a group or an organization that has contributed to the Nordic musical environment, and thus made a difference for the composers in the Nordic countries.
The first prize ceremony was held at the opening of Happy Nordic Music Days in Norway, on the 19th of August in 2009, at Den Gamle Logen in Oslo. The prize was awarded to the Swedish director of the record label BIS - Robert von Bahr.
The prize is an art work in silver, displaying sounds and vibrations in a beautiful Nordic way, created by the Swedish artist and silver smith Lars Torvaldsson.

Nordic Music Days 2010 is organized by the Danish Composers´ Society for the Council of Nordic Composers.
