Saturday afternoon, most of the city is alive with Nordic music – from Musikskolen to the west, across inner city squares, and into Koncerthuset (Danish National Radio Concert Hall) to the south of the city. Listen to young Nordic musicians playing their own music and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra giving a world premiere to a piano concert by Søren Eichberg.
New Nordic Composers in Københavns Musikskole
After three days of intense labour in Young Nordic Composers Workshop, young Nordic composers open the doors to a concert of brand new works composed and performed the composers themselves.
12 young folk musicians in the squares of Copenhagen
The heart of Copenhagen will sound with sparkling Nordic folk music, as the 12 young folk musicians of Happy Folk goes all in and play their refreshing and experimental version of old Nordic folk music as it would sound today. During the afternoon, you can listen to Happy Folk if you drop by Gråbrødre Torv or Gammeltorv.
Danish National Symphony Orchestra in DR Koncerthuset
Søren Eichberg is composer-in-residence with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for 2010-2013, and as part of Nordic Music Days 2010, the orchestra will perform his brand new piano concert in the beautiful new concert hall at DR Byen. Also featured this afternoon is music by the Swedish composer Albert Schnelzer.
